Tinwhistle¶
Tinwhistle is a simple instrument: a piece of pipe with 6 finger-holes and a whistle on top. It can play almost three full octaves, and it’s really easy to learn. It’s cheap to get too. If you want to learn to play some instrument, this is one of the best choices.
I have transcribed a number of simple tunes that I couldn’t find anywhere else. Since I can’t write notes here, I will just write how many holes you need to cover to get the particular sound. If the digit is bold, you just need to blow harder to get to the second octave. “0/2” means that you need to skip one hole from the top and cover the next two holes. Same for “0/5” – cover all the holes except for the first one. You will have to guess the rhythm yourself.
